Carol's Thoughts of Jean

For the last 45 years Jean was always a part of my life.  We talked on the phone at least once a week and she would comment about everything from world news to sports.  She'd laugh about her good or bad luck playing bingo & Skip-Bo, her upcoming lunches with the Red Hats or other trips that the senior home had on the roster.  She once told me : "Even if I don't like where they're going, I go, because even sitting on the bus and looking out the window at the traffic, the way people dress and how the streets have changed are interesting. You gotta get out or life's boring from your own room."

As I saw it, Jean lived a life of simplicity and happiness.  She got up every morning with a plan that included prayer and play, rest and amusement. She read the newspaper from cover to cover, had family and friends that sweetened her years on earth.   I was lucky to have known her and especially to be the one to hold her and as she slipped from this world.
